Review: The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus #1) by Rick Riordan

Summary-
Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up in a bus full of kids on a field trip. Apparently he has a girlfriend named Piper and a best friend named Leo. They’re all students at a boarding school for “bad kids.” What did Jason do to end up here? And where is here, exactly?

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare. Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out.
Leo has a way with tools. When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about. Weirdest of all, his bunk mates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god.
Join new and old friends from Camp Half-Blood in this thrilling first audio book in The Heroes of Olympus series.(less)

Review-
I loved this book.  It is a great cross between Greek and Roman mythology.  It is also a great spin-off of the Percy Jackson Series, one of my favorites.  It gives mystery, action, and romance throughout the entire book.  It also gives sadness and excitement.  You meet so many minor gods in these series, not just the major gods like in the Percy Jackson Series.  The reading was great and it kept me on the edge of my seat.  I can't wait until Son of Neptune comes out!

My Score: 5 STARS! -Loved the Book!

  1. (Spoiler) I was so dissapointed where the last book left off. I really wanted to see him be reunited with Annabeth. Oh! and the Argo 2 is made of like fire or something right? Well, would that apply to the prophecy 'Wisdom's daughter stands alone/The mark of Athena BURNS THROUGH ROME? Wouldn't that apply to the ship?

  2. +but, this series had better have a happy ending which means Percy and Annabeth live. I'd also like Jason and Piper to survive and Leo. Plus, why would Riordan create an entire series with Annabeth and Percy and have one of them die in a book in The Heroes of Olympus? One might think one has died (this is not a spoiler, this is for future refrences)but that person might wind up being mistaken. Anyway, I wouldn't mind if Frank didn't make it, I mean he's cool but I love Jason and Percy's history much better. So, are these the seven half-bloods?
    Jason(Roman)Hazel(Roman)Frank(Roman)Piper(Greek)Leo(Greek)Annabeth(Greek) and . . . Percy!(Greek/Roman) since he's like half and half since Camp Jupiter 'adopts' him as a Roman and . . . er . . . marks him? TA-DA! I hope I have it right.
